Gabriel Martinelli is insistent that he wants to remain at Arsenal for his “whole life” as he is keen to “conquer things” with the club.
The 20-year-old made the move to the Gunners in 2019. His progress was hampered by a serious knee injury in 2020.
Following a stop-start season in 2020/21, Martinelli has been relied upon more so far this term.

The forward has been involved in six goals from his 16 Premier League appearances this campaign.
Arsenal are enjoying a successful season as they currently sit sixth in the table. They are two points behind fourth-placed Man Utd with three games in hand.
The Gunners have not finished in the Champions League places since the 2015/16 season when they were runners-up.
Martinelli has suggested that Arsenal’s “total focus” is on finishing in the top four:
“We have a young group, we have a lot of time ahead of us, players with a lot of quality, I think we will achieve great things,” Martinelli told ESPN Brazil.
“Our focus is the Champions League. Fighting for that top four. A club like Arsenal has to be in the Champions League. It’s our total focus.
“We always want more. Of course, Arsenal are a giant team.
“If I can, I’ll stay here my whole life. I want to conquer things, as I said, I want to stay here and win titles, with these wonderful fans, my teammates.”
Elsewhere, according to reports, Ainsley Maitland-Niles will return to Arsenal following his loan spell at AS Roma.
On Sunday, the versatile midfielder was left out against Spezia Calcio as 20-year-old Nicola Zalewski made his first start of the season.
According to Roma Today (via Sport Witness), Jose Mourinho used Zalewski ‘by meritocracy and not by the emergency’.
They say his start on Sunday was a ‘clear message of rejection’ to the other wing-backs in Jose Mourinho’s squad, including Maitland-Niles.
Furthermore, it is claimed that the 24-year-old ‘will return’ to Arsenal in the summer ‘barring twists and turns’.
The player’s contract at the Emirates expires in 2023, leaving the London club with a decision to make at the end of the season.
