Newcastle 2-1 Brighton: Magpies move further away from bottom three

Newcastle United continued their great form as they defeated Graham Potter’s Brighton & Hove Albion at St James’ Park.

Leading into this clash, Newcastle were unbeaten in six games in the Premier League.

They came firing out of the blocks against Brighton as they scored twice inside the opening 15 minutes.

Ryan Fraser and Fabian Schar netted as the Magpies took control.

Lewis Dunk pulled a goal back in the 55th minute and Brighton pushed for an equaliser.

Newcaslte were able to hand on for all three points and they are now seven points clear of the bottom three.
