Martin Odegaard believes the Arsenal squad are developing very well under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta.
The Norway international spent the second half of last season on loan at the Emirates before making his move permanent in the summer.
Liverpool fans should be happiest – with Arsenal not far behind
He has been a mainstay in Arteta’s starting XI this campaign and has provided seven goal contributions in 20 Premier League encounters in 2021/22.
The Gunners have the youngest squad in the top flight with an average age of 24.2. Last summer, they signed five players in total, all of which were 23 years old or younger.
Arsenal are in a strong position in the race for a top-four finish as things stand. They are currently sixth in the league but are only four points off Man Utd in fourth, with three games in hand.
And Odegaard has hailed the squad, insisting that Arteta is “building something special” in north London.
“I think we’re a very, very interesting group; a lot of young players, and a lot of hungry players,” Odegaard told the club’s official website.
“I feel like we’re building something special here with all the players and the staff.
“It’s really interesting what we’re trying to do and I’m happy with the situation, very happy to be part of the team and hopefully we can keep improving and get better each game. Then we’ll see where it takes us.
“It helps me, to be around players in the same situation [in terms of age],” he added.
“I’ve been through a lot, even though I’m pretty young. In this team I’m not the youngest anymore and I have some experience and I can use that in a positive way, and help the other young players.
“We’re a great group, we have a lot of big young talents but also some more experienced players, I think the mix is good and the team is very hungry. It’s really nice to be part of the team.”
