Alan Shearer and Micah Richards have slammed Chelsea defender Malang Sarr following his disappointing showing against Luton Town.
The 23-year-old signed for Chelsea in 2020 from Nice. He had a loan spell in Portugal with Porto last season.
The centre-back returned to Chelsea ahead of this campaign. He has only started four times in the Premier League this term.

Sarr has featured prominently in the FA Cup though and he started against Luton in the fifth round on Wednesday night.
Chelsea were 2-1 down at half-time. Reece Burke and Harry Cornick scored Luton’s goals and Sarr was arguably at fault for both of them.
The Blues recovered in the second half as goals from Saul Niguez, Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku saw them avoid an upset.
Shearer believes Sarr was “too nice” when defending Burke’s opener:
“Sarr’s marking Reece Burke, meant to be… he’s too nice isn’t he, there’s not enough aggression there,” Shearer said during BBC One’s coverage.
“He’s a yard off him, he touches him, not enough. It’s a very good ball in and run and the contact is superb the way he guides it in that far corner.”
Richards added: “Like you say, once he’s got the run on him and he’s got the height on him as well… he’s not aggressive enough.
“Sometimes if you’re a smaller guy you’ve just got to make sure you’re close to someone, stop him from being able to get that run. It didn’t happen and he’s cost his team a goal.
On Sarr attempting to play Cornick offside for his goal, Richards added: “I just don’t understand why you would risk there.
“His body shape is all wrong. You can see the striker’s leaning forward and going to make the run in behind.
“Just stay with him. Why give yourself the opportunity to get behind on the run?”
Thomas Tuchel said post-match that his players did well to “cancel the noise” surrounding the club to advance in the FA Cup:
“I like how we played, we didn’t get frustrated and were patient. At the same time relentless to find the gaps and the decisive chances. We deserved to win, it was a good team performance, a very humble performance, I like it,” Tuchel said.
“Every match we play is the most important. That is why they are on the pitch and it is good that they score.”
