Less quadruple, more big pots
First Time writing but enjoyed the mailbox for years,

First Time in my lifetime (30) Liverpool have been considered quadruple Worthy but…….

No Liverpool fan other than deluded fantasist actually considere this a real conversation yet right right????? I’m a Liverpool fan best team and squad I’ve ever seen but still the league Cup win was a massive boost but didn’t we make hard work of it far superior team than Chelsea on paper but still took pens to win?

After watching the west ham game we seem.to gamble against lower xg teams we would never give that many chances to man city so at some point the gamble will bite us and we lose at Anfield to a crap team who shouldn’t have a hope the issue is we give hope to teams who shouldn’t have any west ham should of been dispatched but because we play riskier football against them they ways have a chance

So quadruple…… how ? This early in a season the press want to talk.about it straight after kick iff about 10 seconds in the clock ….. Liverpool chasing their quadruple…… stop it guys we will lose to a team we shouldn’t believing our own hype all the best Liverpool wins have come as underdogs…. I’d take a league and Cup double or even just a champions league…. to be fair if we lose the champions league final win fuck all else other than the league Cup I’d be pretty pissed off considering the team.we have..less.focus on a quadruple more focus on big pots please!!!!!

The weirdest thing…
Someone brought a giant cat’s head to Anfield which said, “kick me” on it. I don’t know if Zouma saw it but it was legitimately one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen at a football ground. Credit to the lad because it must’ve taken a lot of effort to think of it and execute it.

That was proper squeaky bum stuff. I don’t think there was a fan at Anfield who wasn’t basically clenched up until that final whistle, the place went pretty quiet and on another day West Ham might’ve got something but these Reds are something special.

Special mention to Keita who was quietly excellent today. Shuttled around the middle and did some proper box to box work. His ball retention in the final third was better than the other midfielders today and given that we lacked a bit of fluency I think we needed that.

Mo was a bit poor, having a also been poor in the Carabao. He’s basically had best in the world form all season so maybe he’s allowed a 2 game rest without a goal or assist. Probably broke a few fantasy football hearts though.

Always a weird feeling supporting Man Utd for a day. Looking forward to it!

Alternative match report
Match report:

West Ham had their fair share of opportunities at Anfield and had they not been wasteful they may have earned themselves a point.

I’m sorry but this is absolute nonsense. So Liverpool’s missed chances don’t count? Liverpool scored 1 goal but all of their other chances are null and void as opposed to West Ham’s chances which were wasteful and every single one of them could’ve led to an equalising goal whilst Liverpool’s equal number of chances don’t count because they weren’t goals?

Alternative match report:

Liverpool created match winning opportunities from the second minute and it was only through profligacy that they didn’t run out 4-0 victors.

Paid in blood
The Chelsea fans yesterday at that game chanting for Roman during a show of support for Ukraine. Akin to finding out their best mate murdered 50 people and when asked about it at the pub respond, “He might’ve done but he bought me a Karcher pressure washer for Christmas,”

Maybe he did. But he paid for it with blood.

I said it on Friday in the mailbox and I’ll say it again; you’re all so stupid and he’s laughing at you.

Would Gerrard even be on Liverpool’s radar?
I sit here as a Newcastle fan who only had interest in us staying. Having seen another 3 points chalked up I allowed my mind to wonder.

It didn’t go far, namely to the games also being played out on a Saturday afternoon. I avoided the city centre as the concert of Dave (who is both a great lyricist and actor) in conjunction with the match meant the time stamp on an Uber was wholly unacceptable. Anyways, my ponderings brought me to a question. Villa won and won well while Everton will fancy their chances on Monday v Tottenham. My question however pertains to their respective managers and their former flames.

I would bet that you could always find a home in your team for Lampard. Chelsea have have a dozen Lampard-light attacking midfielders. None come close to the allegedly Chucky former Hammers man in terms of attacking intent and ability. This current version of Liverpool however, might not be able to accommodate Stevey G. Metronomes who do the dirty work and allow a front 3 of Klopps choice to run wild make this team the beast try are. Would a central midfielder such as Gerrard even be on the radar of the famed Pool’ scouting report? Peoraonally I think not. Hence the lack of ‘links’ with Declan Rice.

To extend the question further, what club legends don’t make the first 11 of the current incarnation of a team. Eg. Le Tiss and Southampton et al.

TAA and Barnes
I am interested to know what Leicester and Liverpool and England fans reckon about a couple of players .
Starting from the unlikely risk taker Gareth I’d have to deduce that this is unlikely to happen however , should he not be building the right side of his England eleven around Trent A.A. ?  I dunno a back 3 with Kyle Walker covering for T.A.A. for example ? Ben White and Johnny Stones as the other two ?
Surely the brightest of the bright young players coming in to November 2022 are Foden, Trent , Saka , perhaps the Chelsea right back perhaps Declan Rice , should it not be an England team built around Foden and Trent ?
Moving on to Harvey Barnes , is he now in the England squad ? Can he nip into the starting eleven during the world Cup ?  Where do Leicester fans think he´d help England the most ?
On an unrelated point, I enjoyed the early footage of the Big Match and the article . As a lad I was into Match of the day more , until I became obsessed with snatch of the night , including last night but the videos of the Big Match bought back some happy memories .
Finally, a new update on the leading British managers (to perhaps take England forward after Southgate ) Eddie is up to number one above Brendan Rogers and Potter drops to third with Stevie Gerrard in fourth . Perhaps Rooney deserves a run in the top tier some season soon .
Peter (Grealish is such a flair United player and Sancho such a City systems player , a sliding doors summer transfer that). Andalucia.
