Jurgen Locadia has left Brighton & Hove Albion as he has signed for Bundesliga side Bochum for an undisclosed fee, the Seagulls have confirmed.
Albion paid a then club-record fee of £15m to sign the forward in January 2018 from PSV.
Locadia struggled in England as he was only able to score six times for Brighton from his 46 outings. He has recently had loan spells at Hoffenheim and FC Cincinnati.

Brighton head coach Graham Potter told his club’s website: “Jurgen is keen to play, and Bochum provides him that opportunity, and the possibility to reinvigorate his career in the Bundesliga, where he has previously enjoyed success with Hoffenheim.
“We wish him all the very best for the future.”
Former Holland Under-21 international Locadia, whose contract was set to expire in the summer, made his final Brighton appearance as a substitute in November’s goalless draw with Leeds – his only Premier League outing since August 2019.
Back in November, Gareth Southgate suggested that Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey was close to an England call-up:
“It’s always difficult because we’ve got so much competition for places and we had quite a few players missing last time, which means you bring others in, so you’ve got more decisions to make,” Southgate said.
“Also some young players, who are playing well, haven’t quite made the squad. So we’ve kept a reasonable amount of consistency really with the group that was with us in the summer that did so well.
“There are players who are pushing the group really strongly.
“Tino Livramento has had a great start to the season, along with Tariq Lamptey and we have just seen Matty Cash go to Poland, but we have a lot of good right-backs in the squad and others pushing them.
“I think Emile and Conor Gallagher are playing very well with their clubs but we’ve got depth, and to put those in, we’ve got to leave some of these on the sheet out.”
