Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Newcastle United should set their sights higher than Wolves captain Conor Coady.
The £300million takeover of the Magpies earlier this month means they now have the backing of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), valued at £320billion.
As a result of the takeover, many names have been linked with a move to St James’ Park.

One player linked is Wolves defender Coady, who has been at Molineux since 2015 and is under contract with his current club until 2025.
The 28-year-old is an England international and was part of Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad that reached the final of the competition.
However, former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor does not believe Coady will improve the Newcastle defence.
“Not for me, no. It’s not about leaders, it’s about defenders,” he told Football Insider.
“Conor Coady is a good player but I don’t think he’s going to improve the Newcastle United defence.
“They need a no-nonsense centre-half who’s going not going to stand for anything, not a Conor Coady.
“They need to look at better defenders than that.”
Meanwhile, the Magpies have been linked with a move for Feyenoord winger Luis Sinisterra.
The 22-year-old has started the season in terrific form, scoring nine and assisting six in 17 matches in all competitions.
He also has three caps for the Colombian national team, making his debut in 2019 at the age of 20.
Sinisterra has been at Feyenoord since 2018 and his current contract runs until 2024.
His excellent form this term has attracted the attention of numerous teams, and he is reportedly valued at around £20million.
Newcastle’s interest has been reported by Dutch journalist Maarten Wijffels, who told Voetbalpodcast (via Sport Witness): “He has a lot, that goal against Union Berlin that Jahanbakhsh made. Like he sometimes takes the ball, always facing forward.
“A really wonderful player. Newcastle United will immediately start bidding.”
