Eni Aluko has claimed ‘Cristiano Ronaldo can’t keep bailing Manchester United out’ after the 36-year-old’s brace against Atalanta on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils went behind twice in Bergamo, with Ronaldo equalising in both first-half and second-half stoppage time to grab a draw.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were less than impressive on the night, but a point in their Champions League group has put their fate in their own hands.

And ex-Chelsea striker Aluko has compared Man Utd to her former club, saying the Blues have been able to win matches without Romelu Lukaku, hinting that United will struggle without Ronaldo.
“Chelsea have played with new players – Romelu Lukaku is out, Timo Werner is out – but you look at United and it’s like it’s a one-man band,” she said on BT Sport.
“What else can Manchester United do to get the results? Cristiano Ronaldo can’t keep bailing them out.”
She was also critical of United’s defensive display, adding: “Defensively they have come up against a striker in [Duvan] Zapata that ran them ragged. Is Manchester United’s backline good enough?
“It looks like they can get torn apart by a good striker.”
Meanwhile, Paul Scholes was also critical of the Red Devils’ performance in Italy and is ‘worried’ ahead of their clash with Manchester City this weekend.
Raphael Varane was forced off injured in the first half against Atalanta, which could leave United exposed against their arch-rivals.
Scholes said: “[Harry] Maguire, I don’t know if he’s still injured or got a hangover from the Euros, just doesn’t look right and he’s not with it at the moment.
“I don’t want to say it again, but with a performance like that second half especially no Varane on Saturday it has to be a slight worry.
“If you’re Pep [Guardiola] you would think you have a good chance to win. City think that anyway, at any point it will be a difficult game.
“But with no Varane it is going to be more difficult – saying that, they have the quality to score goals.
“Even in the Liverpool game, they produced three clear chances. United need to defend properly and concentration is key.”
