Both Arsenal and Barcelona are said to be surprised by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s presence in Barcelona.
The Arsenal forward arrived in Catalonia on Monday before a deal was in place.
Aubameyang is looking for the Arsenal exit having been stripped of the captaincy in December and jettisoned from first team training for the latest in a number of disciplinary breaches.

The Gunners are keen to offload the Gabon international and it’s thought Barcelona are keen on securing a loan deal.
But according to CBS Sports, both Arsenal and Barcelona have been surprised to see images of Aubemayang in Catalonia, bringing a touch of nostalgia to deadline day.
Reports in Spain say Barcelona weren’t expecting Aubameyang to show up. The same is true at Arsenal, where they were similarly taken by surprise to discover he had already made the trip to Catalonia.

Peter Odemwingie infamously attempted to secure a transfer to QPR in January 2013, driving to the training ground from West Brom, only for the move to fall through.
On the failed move, Odemwingie has since said: “Everything seemed agreed, but actually I didn’t know that one of the terms was that they [West Brom] were getting Hoilett and [if I had known that] I would have never driven to London.
“Why would I have driven to London in bad weather? It was dark already, it was winter and I had just had a new born, who was one week old.
“Why would I leave my wife and my new-born kid to drive to London and wait outside?”
But there is positivity from all three parties when it comes to a deal for Aubameyang.
The problem is Barcelona may struggle to afford the striker’s wages.
And the Independent claim the La Liga club are therefore looking to offer Ousmane Dembele to the Gunners as part of the deal.
The French forward – who has endured erratic form in his four years at Barcelona – has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, including Spurs, Chelsea and Newcastle, while Manchester United are said to have made a late bid on deadline day.
A deal with Paris Saint-Germain has already collapsed, leaving him as an option in the deal to get Aubameyang through the door.
