Edu ‘flying to Italy’ to secure January move for £35m Juve star

Arsenal technical director Edu is reportedly due in Italy next week to secure the signing of Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski.

The Sweden international looks set to leave Juve with his game-time significantly reduced under Max Allegri – he’s started just four of 16 league games this season.

The Old Lady are open to his sale and floated the idea of using him as part of a deal for Dusan Vlahovic, but Fiorentina aren’t interested.

Kulusevski has the admiration of Antonio Conte, but Spurs are thought to be more likely to target teammate Weston McKennie in January.

And according to La Repubblica (via TEAMtalk), it’s Arsenal who now lead the chase for the 21-year-old.

The Italian publication claims Edu is due to fly to Turin next week for talks with the Juventus hierarchy, with the club said to be seeking £35million.

But the report claims the Gunners believe they can secure Kulusevski for around £25million, with a further £4.2million in add-ons.

Kulusevski has played 66 games for the Serie A side since his debut in 2020, notching eight goals and nine assists.

Meanwhile, Gary Neville has suggested that Arsenal have a “problem” with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the Gunners captain was left on the bench until the final few minutes against Everton.

“There will be a problem with Aubameyang off the back of this game,” Neville said.

“I don’t think he’ll like the idea of Nketiah coming on. I don’t think he’ll like the idea of being a sub full-stop.”

When asked if there was something brewing between Arteta and Aubameyang, Neville added: “Yeah it is going to. There’s always that little bit of a bug there between Arteta and Aubameyang.

“I know he’s the captain, but he leaves him out and it just feels like it’s something a little bit awkward and it’s going to cause a problem.

“I suspect if Arteta could probably get money for him and get someone else they probably would.

“And I bet if Aubameyang could move on he probably would as well. It maybe could just turn a little bit sour.”
