Former Manchester United and England star Teddy Sheringham has claimed that Harry Kane is “not leading by example” at Tottenham as it is clear that he “has the hump”.
Kane was keen to leave Spurs during the summer. Manchester City were interested in him but this move did not come to fruition.
The forward has performed well in cup competitions for Tottenham. He has six goals from just four games in the Europa Conference League and the Carabao Cup.

The 28-year-old has not been at his best in the Premier League, though. He failed to score in his first six outings.
Kane netted his first league goal of the campaign against Newcastle United at St James’ Park. Spurs currently sit sixth in the Premier League after nine games.
Sheringham has told the Evening Standard that Kane needs to lead by example:
“He was probably given assurances that he could leave,” Sheringham said.
“Those assurances haven’t been stuck to and it looks like Kane has the hump.
“He needs to change that around and realise he is still the Tottenham vice-captain and still a Tottenham player and do better.
“I think it’s a really tough time for Tottenham. When you have a striker who is also the vice-captain like Harry Kane, he leads by example rather than telling everyone what to do.
“That’s a very different scenario. They need a leader at the back or in midfield to dominate and dictate and tell people what they’re doing wrong.
“I’m really not a lover of a centre-forward being the captain and he’s not performing at the best of his capabilities at the moment, so he’s not even leading by example.”
Spurs were beaten 1-0 by West Ham United last weekend. Jamie O’Hara claimed after that game that Kane and Heung-Min Son “went missing” in the defeat:
“Shocking performance from Spurs, especially in the second half,” said O’Hara. “They didn’t even create a chance. Go 1-0 down, what are you doing from the cross?
“Set-pieces aren’t just good enough. How many times did we get the ball in the first half, try and make something happen. Pass it, move it, pass it, move it and open them up.
“Second half, absolutely nothing. Harry Kane went missing. Son went missing.”
