Rio Ferdinand has heaped praise on Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood following his goal against Young Boys on Wednesday night.
The England forward scored the opener against the Swiss side as the Red Devils drew 1-1 at Old Trafford.
Interim manager Ralf Rangnick gave opportunities to numerous young and fringe players on Wednesday, knowing United had their Champions League group already won.

Greenwood’s acrobatic finish left Ferdinand in awe as he waxed lyrical about the 20-year-old, hailing his confidence when stepping out onto the pitch.
“You know what I like? His temperament,” Ferdinand said on BT Sport.
“He comes into big games with superstars around him and he doesn’t look like he has any fear in his bones; he has ice in his veins when the ball comes in around the box.
“He is so calm and cool he expects to score. When I’ve watched him as a kid the goals aren’t too dissimilar to the goals he’s scoring now.

“He feels comfortable here and when he comes out here it doesn’t feel like a big thing for him and that’s a scary attribute to have because most kids get the jitters.
“He’s a shy kid, he’s humble. I haven’t spent loads of time with him but you look at him you think there’s an iciness there beneath what you see that says he’s meant to be a top top player.”
As well as Greenwood, Ferdinand complimented Luke Shaw, saying he has staked a claim for a place in Rangnick’s side after the draw against Young Boys.
“I think him [Greenwood] and Shaw are the players that stand out, the ones that have a chance of playing in the Premier League,” he said.
Meanwhile, Manchester City reportedly want Erik ten Hag as their successor to Pep Guardiola, and will join Man Utd in the hunt for the Ajax boss.
Ten Hag has won two Eredivisie titles, two Dutch cups and one Dutch super cup in his four years in Amsterdam, and recently revealed that he is ready to move abroad to take on the challenge of managing a top foreign club.
Ten Hag told de Volkskrant: “I think I’m ready for it [coaching abroad]. I would be happy to take up that challenge.”
