Ruud Gullit ‘doubts’ Jurrien Timber will cut it in the Premier League amid Man Utd’s rumoured interest in the Ajax defender.
After months of being linked with the managerial job at Old Trafford, Fabrizio Romano revealed on Monday that Erik ten Hag has agreed to join the Red Devils this summer.
Gossip: £50m for new Man Utd winger, Chelsea pair to Real
He has won two league titles and two Dutch Cups in the Netherlands during his time as Ajax boss.
Man Utd were also linked with former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino – who is currently at PSG – but have opted to give Ten Hag his first job in the Premier League.
It is no surprise that the Manchester club have been linked with numerous players currently at Ajax.
Antony has been linked with a £50m transfer, meanwhile, Ryan Gravenberch and Timber are also reportedly on Ten Hag’s Man Utd transfer shortlist.

Former Netherlands midfielder Gullit has his reservations over Timber’s rumoured move to Old Trafford, insisting that he would struggle against the more physical sides in England.
Gullit told Ziggo Sport (via Inside Futbol): “He is a very good player, but I wonder whether he can be a defender in England.
“You have to play against Burnley and West Brom and strikers of the top seven clubs are all world-class.
“I doubt whether he can defend well enough.”
The 20-year-old joined Ajax from Feyenoord in 2014 and has made 70 appearances for the club’s first team.
39 of those appearances have come in 2021/22. He has scored three league goals as Ajax sit top of the table, four points above PSV in second.
As per Transfermarkt, the young defender is valued at £27m and is under contract at the Johan Cruijff ArenA until 2024.
Should he make the move to Man Utd, he will compete with club captain Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane for a starting spot.
