Gabriel Martinelli has had a string of solid performances for Arsenal as of late and former Brazilian midfielder Kleberson thinks he should now be getting more minutes.
“Gabriel Martinelli deserves more game time at Arsenal, and he needs the minutes,” Kleberson told Paddy Power. “He is a brilliant player, played well against Manchester United and he scored a wonderful goal the other day.”
So far this season, Martinelli has played just 277 minutes of Premier League football and has only started in three matches.
His recent performances have garnered praise from the likes of Kleberson though, with a goal against Man United and an assist against Newcastle in his last two appearances for the Gunners.
“Teams need players like him, that can decide games in any given moment and that create opportunities in the tighter games.
“The more minutes he gets for Arsenal, the more he will grow and demonstrate his quality. It’s great for Arsenal to have players of his calibre. It’s also great for the manager, because he can change the formation with Martinelli’s versatility.”
Tonight Arsenal travel to Goodison Park to face Everton and Martinelli will be hoping to pick up from where he left off last time against Man United.
