Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott is “fearless” and his goal against Cardiff City was a “touching moment” for him and the club.
Klopp named a strong team for Liverpool’s tie in the fourth round of the FA Cup against Cardiff City. The likes of Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk started.
The Premier League side were much the better side against Cardiff and they took the lead in the 53rd minute. Jota got the goal as they as he headed Alexander-Arnold’s free-kick into the net.

Elliott and Luis Diaz came off the bench in the second half. The latter signed for Liverpool in January from Porto for a fee that could rise to £49m.
Elliott meanwhile has been out of action for five months as he suffered an ankle fracture dislocation against Leeds.
Diaz was vital in the build-up to Takumi Minamino’s goal. Elliot then netted in his return game as he made it 3-0.
Rubin Colwill pulled one back for Cardiff but Liverpool still ran out comfortable winners.
The Reds will come up against Dean Smith’s Norwich City in the fifth round.
As quoted by BBC Sport, Klopp has lauded Elliott for doing an “incredible job” during his rehabilitation:
“A lot of nice little stories around in the game. I think everybody agrees that all the other goals were important too. It was a really tough game. It is all fine so a good afternoon. Luis [Diaz] came on there is a little bruise and a cut there. Everybody says ‘welcome to England’. There will be a scar so he knows what he did in the first game.
On Elliott: “Harvey was unlucky with the injury but lucky with the whole process afterwards. Everything went really well. He did an incredible job, the medical department did an incredible job. He is a fearless boy and a great footballer so all these things. There are not all good things when you get an injury like that but when you are young you deal with it. And he did. Now he is back and it is really nice. Getting the goal was a touching moment.”
On Jota: “He jumps high, he has timing and he is a very skilled boy. He has a nose for these situations and is involved in everything we do. In these games you need an opener and that was the one for us today.”
