Liverpool 2-0 Atletico Madrid: Klopp’s men win again in Group B

Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane got on the scoresheet as Liverpool kept their perfect record in Group B intact as they beat Atletico Madrid.

The hosts were on top from the early going and they went ahead inside the first 15 minutes. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross was met by Jota, who headed home past Jan Oblak.

Alexander-Arnold was in the thick of it for Liverpool’s second as well. His low cross into the area was converted by Mane.

PL clubs ranked on how many days since their last major trophy…

Atletico Madrid’s task of getting back into the game was made more complicated in the 36th minute. Felipe was sent off for bringing down Mane as he was advancing towards the goal.

Luis Suarez had a goal disallowed for Madrid in the second half as Liverpool earned all three points. The English giants have won all four of their Champions League group games.
