Manchester United are considering a move for Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak, according to reports.
Premier League rivals Arsenal have previously been linked with a move for the Swedish forward and could look to bring the player to the Emirates in the summer as they look to solves their attacking problems.
Man Utd moaners can’t have it both ways. Shut up or f**k off
However, United have their own issues in the forward areas with Edinson Cavani set to depart and questions over whether Cristiano Ronaldo sees himself at Old Trafford next season.
Anthony Martial has left on loan to Sevilla and it unlikely to remain at the club past the summer so a move for a new centre-forward is likely.
The Daily Mail are reporting that United are considering moving for Isak, who has a £75million release clause at the Spanish club.
The Swedish international only has four league goals this season after an impressive 17 last campaign but after a good European Championships, interest in Isak is high.
The report names a further three centre-forward targets that United may look at in the summer with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, Lautaro Martinez of Inter and Czech forward Patrik Schick all mentioned.
Goals have been a real problem for Ralf Rangnick’s side in recent weeks with even talisman Ronaldo receiving some criticism after a goal drought.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Rangnick admitted: “It’s not only about Cristiano Ronaldo. He should score more goals, it’s obvious, I think we are creating enough chances and and enough opportunities in the last couple of games but we just didn’t score enough goals, but this is not only an issue with Cristiano, it’s an issue with the other players, especially the offensive players. We don’t score enough goals.
“If you bear in mind how many chances we create, and this is also something that needs to get better in the next couple of weeks.
“At Burnley, in 70 of those 90 minutes, it was very, very, very close to the game plan we spoke before the game and now it’s about rewarding ourselves and also getting the results we should deserve.”
