Man Utd forward’s ‘preference’ revealed as he’s ‘keen on’ La Liga move

Man Utd forward Anthony Martial is “keen on” a move to Sevilla as his “preference” is to join them over Barcelona and Juventus, according to reports.

The 26-year-old joined United from Monaco for an initial fee of £36m at the start of the 2015/16 campaign.

Martial has impressed in fits and starts over the years but he is having a poor season this time around.

The ‘dark truth’ about Ole at Man Utd, ‘irresponsible’ Klopp and…

The Frenchman has only started four games across all competitions and he has only scored once.

The player’s agent confirmed earlier this month that he wants to leave the club in January. He has been linked with Barcelona and Juventus in recent weeks.

Sky Sports are reporting that Martial would prefer a move to Sevilla during the winter transfer window. A loan deal is most likely and he believes he will “get the most game time” with them.

The report adds that Martial is due to hold talks with Man Utd interim boss Ralf Rangnick in the next couple of days.

Elsewhere, Graeme Souness has suggested that Arsenal are better placed than Man Utd to finish fourth:

“Right now they’re [Arsenal] the best of the rest. The front three for me are considerably better than any of the other teams,” Souness said on Sky Sports.

“But I’m sat between Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, maybe West Ham will think they’d be in that argument as well.

“Fourth is within their reach [for Arsenal] but we’re only halfway through the season. They have to improve on their away form, that’s not good enough.

“We’ve seen when they went to Liverpool a couple of weeks ago that the level that Liverpool play at and where [Arsenal] are right now is considerably different.

“Yeah they have a chance of being fourth but Spurs will be in that argument, Man U will be in that argument, and West Ham I think can cause problems to anyone they play.”

On Arteta’s decision to strip Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of the captaincy, Souness added: “That was a big moment for him. He’s a young manager and he’s put his foot down,” Souness added.

“Prior to today’s game they [Arsenal] had a poor record away from home.”
