Ralf Rangnick’s squad at Man Utd are become increasingly frustrated by his coaching methods, according to reports.
The Red Devils drop more points in the race to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley on Tuesday.
Man Utd failed to make the most of their first-half dominance at Turf Moor, where they had two goals disallowed either side of Paul Pogba’s first league strike in over a year, and paid the price as Jay Rodriguez brought Burnley level two minutes into the second half.

It was an all too familiar pattern for Man Utd – Rangnick’s side were knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties by Middlesbrough on Friday night but should have been out of sight by half-time, three weeks after they blew a 2-0 lead to draw at Aston Villa.
The result saw Man Utd slip to fifth in the Premier League as West Ham edged out Watford 1-0 to climb above them, and they dropped further on Thursday after Arsenal beat Wolves 1-0.
And now ESPN claim that Man Utd players are ‘becoming frustrated’ at Rangnick’s coaching methods ‘with a section of the squad believing his training sessions are old fashioned.’
There is understood to be ‘bemusement’ among the players that the German ‘has left the bulk of the coaching sessions to assistant Chris Armas’.
The website adds:
‘Sources told ESPN that some players on the training ground have jokingly likened Armas to fictional soccer coach Ted Lasso, the hapless American parachuted in to manage fictional side AFC Richmond in the hit Apple+ comedy show.
‘Elsewhere, some players have complained among themselves that Rangnick’s sessions are often based on 11 vs. 11 work rather than dynamic drills they feel help to keep them sharp between games.
‘Sources told ESPN that much of the work being done on the training pitch is built around improving organisation and shape with less emphasis placed on sessions designed to hone particular skills.’
On their defeat to Burnley, Rangnick said at full-time: “We should have been at least 2-0 up at half-time.
“But we said the same after the Middlesbrough game. We were doing extremely well on the ball and controlled the game but in the end it’s about winning the game.
“Today with only one point after those 94 minutes, nobody can be happy. And above all, if you want to be fourth in the league, we should not lose points like the ones tonight.”
