Prem trio eye ‘cut-price deal’ in January for Arsenal striker

Eddie Nketiah could leave Arsenal in January for a ‘cut-price’ with three Premier League clubs interested in the striker.

The Gunners are keen for the 22-year-old to sign a new deal, with his contract expiring at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Manager Mikel Arteta said in October: “I have full belief that he is going to be a top, top player and hopefully at Arsenal. I’m happy to have him, he is our player, I regard him really highly and from my side I want him to stay.

Four reasons Jurgen Klopp is the new Arsene Wenger

“I have no doubts what he can offer. Whatever you throw at him, he wants more and he demands himself more.”

However, the young striker is desperate to be somewhere he is guaranteed consistent game time.

According to the Daily Mail, Nketiah is a target for West Ham, Crystal Palace and Brighton, who could battle it out for the Arsenal poacher in a ‘cut-price deal’ next month.

The report adds that the striker has interest from clubs in Germany and France.

Nketiah has been in good form whenever called upon by Arteta. He recently scored a hat-trick against Sunderland in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

West Ham only have one recognised striker in Michail Antonio, so David Moyes will be eager to bolster his attacking options in the winter transfer window.

The Jamaica international started the season very well but has been struggling in recent weeks. He is without a goal in his last 13 matches.

As well as Nketiah, the Irons have also been linked with Lille hitman Jonathan David.

Fichajes reported earlier this month that West Ham are in discussions with Lille over signing the Canada international in January.

David joined the French outfit from Gent in August 2020, helping Les Dogues win the Ligue 1 title in his maiden season.

During their title-winning campaign, David scored 13 league goals whilst playing in 37 out of 38 league matches.
