Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey has declined a surprise approach from Premier League strugglers Burnley, according to reports.
The 31-year-old has struggled with injuries during his time in Turin. He has only made five appearances this term and has not featured for his club since a six-minute cameo against Zenit on October 20.
Ramsey has been heavily linked with a return to England following his time at Arsenal. The Gunners, Newcastle and Everton are all reportedly interested in the Wales midfielder.
His wage demands could be a huge stumbling block in a potential transfer as he is reportedly asking for £230,000 per week.
The Sunday Mirror reported in December that Ramsey also wants a contract that lasts until 2025 if he is to leave Juventus on a permanent basis.
Surprisingly, however, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims Burnley made an “official proposal” to sign the former Arsenal star; an offer the player turned down.

“Ramsey may come back to the Premier League,” Di Marzio said. “He had an official proposal from Burnley to sign for them, but he said no.
“He wants to play for a more ambitious team, Newcastle have asked for him too before Christmas. We’ll see whether anyone can sign him in January.
“He would like to come back because now at Juventus he’s in a difficult situation.”
On Wednesday, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri confirmed that Ramsey will leave the Old Lady in the January transfer window.
“Ramsey, he returned today after we had given him a few days off to work, to train separately, in England,” he said. “In any case, he’s an outgoing player.”
“Some part of me in my head thinks that he would love to come back to Arsenal. It does. Something about that would sort of tick a box,” Walcott said.
“A lot of people have been on his back in Italy, which I haven’t seen a lot or enough of it to comment on that.
“But he’s a leader. He’s a workhorse. Still playing for his country and has all these caps.”
