Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly ‘frustrated’ by the lack of credit he has received at Manchester United amid ‘growing disillusionment’.
Solskjaer returned to United training this week after some time back in Norway during the international break, with The Sun claiming he is ‘refreshed’ and adamant he can ‘turn around United’s fortunes’.

The United boss is under extreme pressure after a run of six defeats in 12 games, including the embarrassing losses to rivals Liverpool and Manchester City, but he ‘will not walk away from Old Trafford’.
The report continues:
‘A number of leading players are growing disillusioned with tactics and team selection. Stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, understandably, believe the team should be performing much better.
‘While the manager accepts his job is being judged game to game, he is frustrated there is not a greater acceptance of what has been achieved over the past two years.
‘He agreed a long-term plan with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to get the club back on track after the rollercoaster of life under Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.’
But it appears the United hierarchy have now accepted the need to find someone to replace Solskjaer.
Manchester Evening News reporter Samuel Luckhurst said that ‘United have privately decided a change of manager will be required following the morale-crushing defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City.’
That report claims Rodgers is understood to be their ‘preferred candidate’ but ‘it is still unclear when the club intends to sack Solskjaer as they mull over an arrival time for a replacement’.
Zinedine Zidane has also been heavily linked, with reports in the last week claiming United had ‘stepped up’ their approach, had a plan to ‘lure’ him to the club, and that Zidane was ‘warming to the idea’.
And BILD journalist Christian Falk has confirmed that United ‘had the idea of Zinedine Zidane as new manager’, but claims the 49-year-old ‘let the board know that he doesn’t feel ready for the Premiere League at the moment and prefers to take a break until summer’.
