Former Schalke and PSV manager Huub Stevens thinks both Man Utd and Ajax should announce the situation surrounding Erik ten Hag as soon as possible.
There are widespread reports claiming that Ten Hag has accepted an offer from the Red Devils to become their new permanent manager next season.
It is likely the Dutchman will have to oversee a huge rebuild of the current side with Man Utd interim boss Ralf Rangnick claiming they could bring in as many as ten players in the summer.

Man Utd were terrible on Tuesday night as arch-rivals Liverpool thrashed them 4-0 with pundits criticising another terrible performance from Rangnick’s men.
And Stevens reckons it would help Man Utd if their players had some “clarity” over who their next manager was going to be, rather than hearing rumours in the press.
“Footballers need clarity. They are no longer little children. They know how it works. And as long as you don’t provide clarity, something will remain dormant within the club,” Stevens told Algemeen Dagblad (via Sport Witness).
“I don’t know how Ajax is doing internally. But it is now clear that Ten Hag is going. Then you have to grab the moment that as a coach you first inform your players, and that in England at the same time the United players are informed of the arrival of the new coach.
“Now you have unrest in two places [Manchester United and Ajax]. Just clarify things. I think a group even respects when that happens, instead of having to hear everything from the press.
“Performance? You can’t imagine that they will suffer from that. They know they have to be champions. They cannot and should not hide. It’s not kindergarten, is it? Really, make it known to them as soon as possible.”
Stevens thinks it would be best to make the Ten Hag announcement official as soon as possible and used his own example of why.
Explaining about leaving Schalke for Hertha Berlin, Stevens added: “I informed director Rudi Assauer quite early on that I wanted to do something different and later that I thought the move to Hertha BSC was right. We then informed the group and won the cup before I left.
“Just when players feel that something is being concealed, they become restless. The longer you wait, the more unrest. And I think it’s also nicer for Ten Hag if it’s out there. Then it’s about that, he answers a few questions but can then also emphasise that he will not answer any further questions about United during the title race.”
