Barca and Tottenham are both making plans to move quickly for targets as soon as the season is wrapped up…
BARCA READY RAPHINHA BIDS
Barcelona have a keen eye on the Premier League relegation fight while they are minded to strengthen their forward line…
The Catalans are known to be keen on signing Raphinha from Leeds. Should Jesse Marsch’s side be the team to drop into the Championship, then Barca reckon they can save themselves a few quid.
The Telegraph says Barca are ready to move quickly at the end of the season for the Brazilian, with two offers lined up. The first, in the event Leeds go down, is said to be slightly higher than the £25million release clause that will reportedly become active if Leeds finish in the bottom three. Should Leeds survive, then Barca have a higher bid waiting to be faxed over to Elland Road.
Personal terms are not expected to be a problem, with it reported at the end of March that Raphinha had already agreed a five-year contract at the Nou Camp.
Barca are in the market for a winger as they prepare to return Adama Traore to Wolves. Fabrizio Romano says the La Liga giants have no interest in taking up their option of making the Spain flier’s loan permanent for £25.3million and would only consider a deal that would involve a player swap.
Guardiola and Manchester City succumb to their most ludicrous Champions League exit yet
SARR OFFERED TO TOON
Another winger up for grabs is Ismaila Sarr. Apparently, Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign the Watford star…
With the Hornets destined for a return to the Championship, Sarr is looking for a way out of Vicarage Road. Liverpool were known to be interested, as they were in Raphinha, before they signed Luis Diaz in January. Which seems to be working out pretty well for all concerned.
So Sarr is being offered around the Premier League’s other big-hitters. FootballTransfers says Newcastle were made aware of the Mali star’s situation in a meeting with his agent in London last month. Sarr’s agent, Saif Rubie, also represents Antonio Rudiger but the Chelsea defender is Real Madrid-bound.
SPURS EYE SPORTING STAR
A couple of lines around Tottenham this morning…
The first comes out of Portugal, where Jornal de Noticias says Spurs are planning to make an offer this month for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha.
The 26-year-old defensive midfielder has scored three goals in 37 appearances in all competitions this season. Palhinha also has 12 Portugal caps after making his international debut last year.
Spurs have also been told how much it will cost them to land Stefan de Vrij.
Antonio Conte is keen on a reunion with the Inter Milan defender, who is also a target for Newcastle and Villa.
Football Insider says Inter are looking for around £15million for the 30-year-old centre-back, who will enter the final year of his contract at the San Siro this month.
