Tsimikas thanks his ‘fantastic best friend’ at Liverpool for helping him settle

Kostas Tsimikas has thanked the “fantastic” Mohamed Salah for helping him settle at Liverpool as he is a “fantastic” person.

The full-back signed for Liverpool last year from Olympiacos for a fee in the region of £12m.

The 25-year-old only played seven times across all competitions last term but he has featured more regularly this season.

This is the Premier League era of the super manager

Tsimikas has played ten times already this campaign as he is providing competition for Andy Robertson.

Meanwhile, Salah has made a superb start to the 2021/22 season. He has grabbed 19 goals and nine assists from his 20 outings across all competitions.

Liverpool face AC Milan in their final Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night. As quoted by the Mirror, Tsimikas has revealed that Salah is one of his best friends at Liverpool:

“He is one of my best mates here. He was there for me to help me. He’s a very big person, fantastic. One of the best people I have ever met in my life.

“We spend a lot of time at the training ground together.”

On Jurgen Klopp, he added: “He told me what he wants. He was always next to me, always there when I needed to ask him something. I have a lot to thank him for. I used to play differently with Olympiacos.”

Tsimikas went onto say that his “dream came true” when he joined Liverpool:

“My dream came true when I came to Liverpool. We are like a family. Whoever is playing, whoever is on the bench, we want the the best for the team.

“We are all happy when we win and sad when we lose. And we celebrate like crazy when we score in the 95th minute!”

Back in July, Tsimikas suggested that Liverpool’s Robertson is the “best left-back in the world”:

“I am very happy to be back with the boys, everything is very good. Training is really hard and really intense, but this will help us a lot for the next games. We start with friendly games and we continue working very hard together.

“The first six months were very difficult for me because I had COVID and two injuries, but the second half of the year was very good and I trained very hard in coming back from the injuries. Now I am more ready and in good shape to give everything for the team and help them to achieve our goals.

“I know I have to challenge the best left-back in the world. This gives me the power to do my work well every day, to continue working hard and to continue to be as good as I can.

“My target for next season is to stay healthy, first of all, and after to play more games and help my team.”
