Jamie O’Hara has suggested that Steven Gerrard is setting Aston Villa up in a “very similar” manner to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Gerrard has won four of his six games at Aston Villa. He joined them last month as he replaced Dean Smith.
His only defeats have come against title contenders Manchester City and Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah scored a penalty as Liverpool beat Villa 1-0 at Anfield over the weekend.
The Villans bounced back on Tuesday night as they got the better of Smith’s Norwich City.
Gerrard’s side have moved up to ninth in the Premier League and they are now just six points adrift of the Champions League places.
As quoted by talkSPORT, O’Hara has suggested that Villa are playing with the same “intensity” as Liverpool:
“Correct me if I’m wrong, Villa fans. But I was watching the game tonight – and Gerrard’s got them set up very similar to how Liverpool play.
“They’ve got that front three. The intensity they’re playing at. They’re going after it.
“It’s very similar to how Liverpool are playing under Klopp.”
Elsewhere, Gerrard has revealed that he has learned a lot from Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers:
“I learned a lot off Brendan, probably more than my previous managers because of the age I was at,” Gerrard said.
“If I worked with Brendan earlier, we’d have had more success together for sure. I think he’s a top coach and he’s very slick in the way he delivers it. He’s really good with his one-to-one stuff, how he manages dressing rooms and deals with individuals.
“If I didn’t take stuff off Brendan, I’d be very stupid and naïve because he’s going to manage at the top for a very long time. I experienced him as a player. I’ve seen it from afar and I’ve competed against him already as a coach up in Scotland. I’ve learned tons off Brendan and I’ll admit I’ve stolen a few things off him as well.
“He wanted to build everywhere and to overload in every area of the pitch so that gave me something different to think about in terms of how I wanted my teams to play.
“I’ve tried to get a combination of both. If I can get the balance right in terms of being organised whilst having the right players who can hurt the opposition. I feel we can move forward.”
